Oil and Gas Sectors
Oil and Gas Sectors will continue to play a key role in world politics, economics and world peace during the 21st century. Major producer was USA in the 19th century, the Middle East in the 20th century, and several regions in the world in the current century. Its use is very closely related to other major sources of energy such as coal and biomass.
In 1987, world energy use was 5,947 Million tons of oil equivalent (Mtoe) by developed countries and 3,120 Mtoe by developing countries. BUT, the interesting distinction was the fact that in the developed countries oil usage was 35%,coal usage was 25% and gas usage was 23%; whereas in the developing countries, oil usage was 23%, coal usage was 28%, gas usage was ONLY 7% and BIOMAS usage was as high as 35%.
NOW, suddenly developed countries are looking towards under-developed and developing countries to learn from them how to conserve energy and have more respect for planet earth by making far greater use of wastage to generate energy rather than using energy to "recycle" waste material: it is like the dog chasing its own tail.
The moral is save oil, gas, coal for future generations by using biomass more. Do not give up using biomas which is better for the global environment. With crude oil prices hovering around 80 US Dollars per barrel (barrel = 35 gallons), it makes a lot of sense for a country like India. India and Bharat are still two different countries: the former is the 30% haves and the latter is the 70% have nots.
